Dining Together Again
One of my favourite ways to show my friends and family love is to serve and share food with them. Setting up a beautiful table setting doesn’t have to be complicated and if you have a few great basics on hand you can pull together a lovely table setting really easily.
A great tablecloth is a good place to start. Linen is one of my favourite fabrics and there are also some great faux linen blends.
Next is a place mat that is the right size for the table you have. The wider the table the larger the place mat. This table wasn’t large so I used a 12” placemat so the scale would look right.
I love vintage inspiration and wooden plates and bowls are making a comeback. There are vintage stores with teak salad bowls or can you find similar ones like these Acacia ones from Crate and Barrel.
I love the mix of stoneware with organic wood. I used two brands of dinnerware in the styled shoot, Fable and a lookalike from Stone+Lain that you can get on Amazon. Both have a lovely speckle to them and a good weight. If a good price point is what you are looking for then I recommend the Stone+Lain but if you want a designed in Canada option then you cannot go wrong with Fable.
I love the black accent of the cutlery. It compliments the other black accents that were incorporated into the styling. I like to have good quality artificial florals on hand to round out the table decor. These faux olive branches are very realistic and added a nice organic feel to the table.
I selected these beautiful linen napkins as the feature for the table setting and they can be reused over and over. The saffron colour really pops against the neutral of the rest of the decor. Round out the table setting with your favourite glassware and you are ready to go!
